The central image is based on an Eastern Orthodox "Anastasis" icon depicting the risen Christ treading open the doors of hell and freeing Adam and Eve from the condemnation of original sin to the blessing of original good works. The four images also included - Tiananmen Square, Coronavirus, climate change and Black Lives Matter - illustrate human "good works" of recent times. |
